rays and arowanas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I keep a ray and a arrowana the same size but I have only owned both of them for a couple months.

i have seen those pics or pics like them a couple of years ago when i was looking into my first ray/aro combo.
i have never had any problems keeping these together and i have only owned asian aros

yea the guy says on his site that even though this has happened he still continues to keep rays with aros, and some people see them as the perfect combination, rays on the bottom, aros on top

Hi bro,

Not to worry, the pics you have posted is very rare....its like 0.0001%.......Rays and aros are a very good & nice combi. It is very common for hobbists in asian countries mixing them together....

I personally have been keeping them together for about 7yrs.....and this is not only on one setup....but numerous attempts.........therefore i dare to tell you that what you are afraid of will not likely to happen!

The ray probably died first since it looks really emaciated. Then the aro probably tried to eat it when it was dead. Or since it was so week the aro saw an oppertunity and took it.

I have to agree with Honda12 that ray probably died first. All fish love to eat other dead fish.

they're ok most of the time. I have an asian aro, a tig and a ray (all mature sizes) in one tank, they're all ok

Try to introduce them in about the same time,
keep 3 motoro ,3 arowana, lots of silver dollars
with no problem at all.
agreed with the rest, the ray might have been
dead before begin attack.
