Hi,

it got stuck in him. The vet gave him paraffin-oil to solve it. He stopped eating before and looked quite bad.

Where I live, I'm surrounded by Vet's and not one of them would know what the heck to do with a fish, yet alone a stingray. You're lucky that there are Vet's where you live that have fish knowledge.

Same thing in my area...2 vet's; One only likes farm animals and the other doesn't deal with fish.
