My ray loves to eat from the top of the water, floating pellets and such. Every so often it's like he finds a new and more effecient method of getting the pellets that float around the centre and not come to the side of the glass for him to pounce on.

He started doing this the other day.. keeps looping up the top under a pellet, then snatched it on a loop.

What type of ray is that. He looks so fun!

Wow I'm in love with this guy already. Great ray!

WOO i never see the stingray can act like that very cool ray

Are you kidding me? Cirque de So-Ray. That is awesome! You gotta teach my guys to do that.

I really think there is something bothering that ray... That is not normal.

I have seen rays act crazy with ammonia levels present. Stray electrical current???

Something is not right.

I would have to disagree, he is very healthy and happy. He only started doing that move yesterday, and only the moment I drop the food stick in, when he eats it, he stops. It's not like he is doing that 24/7.

It's a Motoro X Pearl, and yeah.. that sniffing noise int he video is me doing a bit of a **** laugh... first time he did it that much.

edit: water levels are fine, 2x 40% water changes weekly, and add the appropriate amount of salt every second week and prime every change. Filtration = 2x Eheim 2217's + a Fluval FX5.

I have had a lot of rays in my life and I've never seen that behaviour before...strange..

ive seen rays act crazy, and i realize some have different personalities, but that is extreme... Hope you are right, good looking ray.

If something actually is wrong, no idea what else I could event check. Also wouldn't make much sense as to why he only starts doing it when I drop the Hikari sticks in, then stops after he has eaten them. To me that seems almost 100% enough to assume it's just an odd technique he has picked up.

Apart from when he eats he is usually just cruising out along the bottoms, or up and down the glass quite a bit.
