so here are my ideas on a ray setup .... please feel free to tell me what u think and give constructive criticism ......
i was looking at amazonfishmans pool setup and really like it !
that got me convinced and here we go : first use some 1.5" stirofome insolation under the pool, set pool up , clean it , get pool filter sand , clean that , get RO water from LFS , fill half way , add sand, get diff. pump for pool filter , use a DIY W/D setup , get and install a 1000 W heater with guard on it , let sit/run for 3-5 days and then add rays.

u may fire when ready !!!

sounds like just what i did..i used a pond liner over 11/2" styrofoam hoping it would retain heat but it had to be shut di\own for winter even though in the garage..where are you planning on setting this up?

Please dont add rays after letting it run for just a few days!

yup, cycleing tanks is always a good idea, decreases chance of fish deaths.

id say give it AT LEAST 2 weeks
but whats best to do if u wanna b sure its good n cycled is let the water run and take daily nitrite tests... eventually u will see it rise... and then drop again... then i would add a bunch of goldfish (after quarantining them because they will end up food for the rays in the end) n wait another week... in that time the water will prolly go kinda cloudyish and then clear up... when its clear then your full cycled and ready to rock..

no offense taken trust me ...... going from a 125 to a 1100 is a big step and the reson i wrtote this is to get everyones input!
goldfish huh! ...... Hmmm ....... even with RO water from the LFS ?!?!?
i never noticed any spiks in my 125 ..... but i will take ur advice!
besides the water .... does everything sound good ?

Aw bro, you gotta understand what the nitrogen cycle is before you get a ray.

You should have a good grasp of it before getting really into fishkeeping, its essential.
