I think you should totally count being bitten in with your mortality rate, unless you did the biting. l.

I should have separated her, and I should have not slept in that day and been down there at least 2 hours sooner to check on them. I don't know... It sucks either way.

As mentioned "Sometimes it just takes a little time for animals to be fully operational"

If the femal is new to reproduction they don't always act properly the first time around, so good luck and keep at while learning from the past!

And test kits are must to keep water paramiters in check, without them you are only guessing that water changes will help.

I'm almost wondering if it might be worth looking into a mild sedative. If it's stress related, it might help. It also might help slow or stop these contractions.

No-one seems to know what causes this...and no-one seems to know how to cure it. I'm willing to experiment.

Now, to switch to happy thoughts.

Remember the 2 rays I was waiting for? And how I was holding everyone in suspense as to what they were? Well, for those of you following closely, you know that one of them died a few weeks after spitting up a hook...the other one could have been shipped at any time, but I've been kindof holding off waiting to finish up a few things... Well, this is getting even better than before now!!! But I'm still not telling, and it's going to still be a few weeks. I will say, that they were going to be a mismatched pair...Now I can say that there is a real good chance that they will both be P1_'s. ;)

This morning she is acting normal, but there was a period yesterday as well.

But this morning, there was a big turd-ball next to her that is different than the poop that's been stringing out for the last couple days.

I'm not getting my hopes up, but this makes me at least think that the Epsom Salts was not a bad idea.

Fingers crossed.

I think it'll be a few weeks or so, but I'm being very patient. No hurry...I want everything to be perfect.

If it goes as I hope, I'll get some pics to choose from this friday or so...

test the fecal! u could disect it yourself, or if you put it in a small vial take it to the vet and the can check to see if theres something abnormal in there or she has parasites.... at my old vet clinic a fecal test only cost about 10bucks and they would look at it under a microscope, as well as send it out to a lab
