Rays on a budget- My (somewhat long) story w/pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mike there gorgeous, as I said buddy im in the market, hopefully I can be one of ur first ray clients. Have they eaten anything yet

Thanks everyone!

I don't expect them to eat for a day or 3...but they're still doing good. First thing I did was test the water in the nursery tank. All zeros, cept maybe 5 on Nitrate.

Can't wait till a week or so to see how they look. It doesn't show much in the pics, but the darker one is really cool looking. Some of the spots might be eclipsing and breaking up already. Time will tell.

I'll probably hang on to these for at least a month or so. They are already the same size as the other pup. And the Royal momma of the other pup looks to be definately carrying more than one this time around. Counting back to the birth, she's at about 60 days right now. Can't wait to see what she has for me this time around!

How long do mothers usually carry?

90 to 120 days usually. The little girl was only here for 96 days before giving birth, the big girls went more like 110-115 or so.

Tuaniee, Got your Email, forgot that today was my boy's first H.S. football game (away). It was also his first game starting at QB. Last year, the varsity coach asked us to send him to a bunch of QB camps...I was real worried about them taking a great running back, but he said he needed a strong "options oriented" QB...I didn't really know what he meant until tonight. The boy turned 2 totally collapsed pass plays into touchdowns. They got their butts whooped though...our defense is weak.

Anyhow, I've read a lot of views...some breeders give the females a rest, some don't. I think she's getting a rest by the incarceration of the Motoro male...the others aren't quite as aggressive as breeders yet. Either way though, as much as I hate her getting torn up again, I need her to produce fairly quick. She had a couple weeks off last time, and hasn't been beat up too much today...We'll see.

I'll get pics just as soon as my wife is done with the camera. She took about 700 pics at the game...she's getting to be quite the action photographer. Between the racetrack and sports, she's learning very fast.

Mike

Congratulations about your son, shame they lost though.

Ok, I'll do this in 2 posts...

First, the latest of the older pup, and her parents. These aren't my best pics, just the latest...the dark bruising around the center of the mom is from my hybrid...who is very possibly the father of her next litter.

This pup I know 100% who the father is. First, the pup, then the mom, then the dad...Dad is so dark, that I don't have the skills to photograph him well against the white tile. I brightened the pic, but that caused it to wash out a bit.

The pups spots are getting nice and bright...I'm also hoping to see some of moms freckles develop on her back. One pic of her is better than the other...sorry. the one of her on the side glass at the back of the tank turned out very dark, so I fixed it as well as I know how...but it lacks her actual color.
