Why would you even want to do that. Its a stingray, not only is the shape of the ray a cool thing, but having the stinger is to. Its a ray. I has a stinger.
If you think you need to pull it, here is your first step in doing it.
Go get a pair of pliers.
Take the pliers and pull one of your finger nails out off of one of your fingers.
You tell us if that hurts you.
that will answer if it does or doesnt hurt the ray.

If you can't keep a ray responsibly than my recommendation is to get a hamster. But watch out that can bit. So I guess you would want to remove there teeth them? Wait I got it... go with a pet rock, that should be safe enough for you.

I'm new to Ray keeping but I wouldn't want a stingray without the sting; or an electric eel with no shock or a pirana without teeth- might as well stick to goldfish if u don't wanna risk it

I won't stick my neck into this too far... but comparing cutting off a ray tail to trimming fingernails is a gross misrepresentation of the process.

Instead, compare it to cutting off your leg at the knee. Rays use their tails for balance and manouvering in the water column.

x2 zoodiver ...

Surgically removing the stinger commonly gets infected and doing it any other way is cruel.

My advice? Don't piss off a ray, practice safe handling, and it will never sting you. And if it does, you'll feel the pain it would have felt if you mutilated it, probably karma, so maybe you should actually stay away from em.

Venomous snakes need that venom to digest their food, take that away and you take significant years off its life!
