If you really want to consider getting a bigger tank and have a couple hundred bucks....just keep an eye on on craigslist. People let tanks go for way too cheap when they're getting out of the hobby or have to move quickly. You can then turn around and sell your 90 gallon to recoup some of the money.

That sounds like a pretty awsome idea actually, have you tried it/heard and success stories with that method? And yes it seems like i picked the sissy bunch at the store lol! They had tanks with adults that would swim up to your hand when you put it near the tank. I just wanted the joy of seeing them raised from lil guys to big guys.

As far as a bigger tank goes, if I were to hit the lottery, the first thing i would do would be to buy about a dozen gigantic tanks! Money is a little tight right now, and I fell into my 90 gallon from pure luck. A well known keeper in my area overheard me talking about starting the hobby at my bar and explained that he had an inactive 90 gal that was in the way essentially and I got the tank, a stand, al the gravel, plants, a big rock, an air pump, under gravel filter (which i dont use lol) all for $300! Another tank that size or bigger would run me well over a grand.... :cry:j

LMAO are you for real? 300 bucks? look on craigslist! I've seen 200g with stand for 150 bucks

Depends on where you live, how long you watch, how desperate they are to sell and what else it comes with. Down by my moms craigslist fish tanks are 10-20% more because they have the high paying microsoft and boeing jobs and people will dish out the money. Its odd going to LFS there though... they want .27 for a common goldfish.

Back on the subject of shyness though I had friends over so we were eating at the table by the fish tank. The fish were lined up and snapping their jaws and flaring out their gills... I thought they should of been hiding. Made a really good show for the company since they are tough fish and all.

I see a lot of 55's going for $150's and higher on my local craigslist listings.
I live in an apartment tho and really am not too sure if A. a 200G tank would even do anything but crash through the floor (what is the weight of a fully filled 200G w wood base?) and B. how much longer I am going to be in this exact place. Im thinking house next. So theres that bag of worms.

Man thats how i imagined my guys being. confident and cool, while swimming in a group in and out of all the plantlife in the tank... *sigh* soon i hope....
