where the hell did you see that?

You guys should consider yourself lucky. In Ohio (One of the most expensive fishkeeping states), I recently found some 2-3 inch ornates. The price? $120. It's almost worth it though because the fish at this LFS are pretty much some of the nicest around.

Jeez del wish you would have read my last sale... I just sold a 13-14 inch Ornate for 60 bucks less then 2 months ago to a mfk member. I just think 100 bucks for a 2 inch endli is rediculous for anywhere in the world.

over the weekend i saw a 3" senegal, first one ive seen for sale in around 10 months .. scrawny little bugger.. asking price $350 ..

Yes and no. Yes its ridiculous because we should be able to freely import lower jaw species as we can with upper jaws, but no its not ridiculous because if one somehow did end up here it would probably be the only one in the country and therefore worth a heap.

You can get 2-3'' Endlis for $25ea USD... and I think I saw a website (tfd maybe??) with them for $17 but I'm not sure.

Same issues in certain parts of Canada, just not as tough as the Aussie's have it!

I've seen nice 3" ornates at $88, laps at $100, dels at $85 - $100. :irked: Most of the time those have been special orders or mistakes. Most LFS don't stock them otherwise.....

The trick is to develop a good relationship with the fish manager so you can get in on the odd good deal.

The other Aussies are right. Quit complaining, I just bought a senegal that was retailing at AU$240 and was all of 10cm long at most. Mind you, I work in that shop, so it cost me less, but you get the idea...
