Please! Please I beg you don't make this into some religion thread. It's a damn Christmas tree for gosh sakes....call it a holiday tree idc just let this thread not get closed MODS. :D

When I was younger(only 21 now) the parents always did a real Christmas Tree then just kinda stopped and got one of those fake ones when we were around 12. Meh. :nilly:

I'm with the GF now and were starting the tradition up again! I love real trees. Sure it's a hassle of getting on and watering it everyday but it's Christmas. It's once a year, how can you not want to take in a random tree from outside and put lights on it and celebrate Christmas near it!!!! We will get it in a week or so, need the money first. It's our first Christmas together so need lights and all that jazz.

She has a fake one which were setting up today. She's not too thrilled about getting a real one. What about the pine needles she says. I tell her I bought that expensive vacuum for that....get a cleaning! :D I took a solid week to convince her that we won't be ablaze the next day with all kinds of links to show her if done right it won't start a fire.

So anyone else?!

Damn, what was I thinking. If a MOD sees this can they put in the poll: Real and Fake! For those like me who will have both.

I voted for fake, never had a real tree and don't plan on getting one in the future.

I voted fake. I had a real tree growing up and I was always the one elected to crawl underneath it and water the thing. Pine needles and sap every where. It was a pain to haul out the door to the curb after Christmas.

Now I have a fake tree and it's so easy. The lights are already on it and the branches hold ornaments better.

Save real trees for the earth, jesus didnt have pine trees in the middle east lol and less clean up

fake...no mess and no fuss...but really cannot compare to real ... i just rather not be part of cutting a tree down and killing it just for holiday tradition... i have all those live beautiful pines right outside my door..

That's the fun of having real. The whole cutting down(or pre-cut) then having to use the whole family to get it inside and the cleanup afterwards. Maybe I'm old-fashioned. I've always been into old music and into retro things. It's not for everyone though.

real, i just got mine today and the smell has filled the house, its beautiful!

Nothing like that smell in the house. It's like potpouri but we have not had a real tree since I was in diapers. They do seem to sell pretty well around here though. The vendors are setting them up already.
