I doubt it would be too difficult to build a contraption to make the movements more fluid and less human-like, but regardless this is obviously fake. If you can't tell just by using common sense, then the fact that he was filming in the exact area it appeared (before it was even visible) at the exact time it appeared should be enough evidence to prove it is a hoax. And I think I remember him saying in the last vid that he saw it, then immediately started filming, but how would he see it in that murky water before the camera is even able to show it?

If you watched the last video I think he said that he was in the same place and was testing out a camera underwater because his daily job is shooting weddings. He said he was actually waiting for it and the second time was waiting longer. To me it seems like he wouldn't be a guy who would try to fake a mermaid video. I mean if you watch his other videos he's just a normal guy who isn't into sci fi or stuff like that but you never know. It's just cool to think that it just might be real.

Just because someone says something on youtube doesn't make it the truth. There is no way this is real, at least other mermaid hoaxers didn't go with the stupid "The Little Mermaid" style mermaid. If this was real, where would the mermaid come from? It is physically impossible for humans to successfully breed with fish, so how could a human/fish hybrid occur? Also if a human was able to successfully reproduce with a fish (which already sounds completely rediculous), then why would it just happen to be perfectly split down the middle- half fish-half human? A fish/human hybrid would probably have a somewhat evenly distributed mixture of both human and fish traits, not just perfectly half-and-half. Also, any fish keeper should be able to recognize how fake that tail fin looks. Seriously I cannot understand how anyone could possibly believe this crap.

Edit: And to support what I said about the distribution of traits, look at some of the pics on this website in the hybrids section, I can guarantee you that you won't see a single fish where the front half looks exactly like one species, and the back half looks like another.

GoodPho~D, I think it is admirable that you want to believe in mermaids. If they did exist it would be wonderful for many reasons including making everyone question everything they think they know. I cannot claim to know they don't exist. So party on and if you ever meet a hot mermaid give her my number :D

I know it requires a step down to even post in this thread, but I feel compelled to congratulate the creator on this high-quality fake. It looks really good. Whether he built the tail himself or its CGI, it looks really good.

If it is true?! however? chances are that it wouldn't be a hybrid. It would be in its own class. If you look at evolution you would know that life started in water and than it slowly evolve onto land. New species are found almost everyday in the tropical rain forest. If you look at the mountain gorilla for example it wasn't discovered until the early 1900s and it was a land animal. Not to mention that our earth is only covered about 30 percent of land and the rest water. Much of the ocean floor has yet to be discovered and mapped. So it does hold true that there might be many other species not yet known to man but than again I would like more knowledge and prof of the existence of mermaids before I become a full believer. Its just fun to think it could be real.

If it's a hybrid, I want to interview the psycho who goes around raping fish. That would be an epic conversation.

Genetically impossible on so many levels...

haha yeah and it would have to be a pretty big fish too. I can see it on the news "Top story tonight, man killed by hump back whales because he tried to hump them"

You honestly think that if an organism is half one species and half another, it could be a completely different species from either of the two other species? I'm sorry but that is just completely ignorant.
