4,000 gallons would be awesome. But not many have that kind of income or space. Iv'e seen lots or reds kept in 600 gallon tanks. My cousin is building a 8 x 4.5 x 3 foot tank for his rtc and his tsn. I think that would be alot more realistic.
just saw your age bud. I would wait till your a little older and have your own place to take on such a feat. Great imagination! For now they are all sorts of more manageable fish you could keep! Goodluck on your decisions, sound like your well on your way to being a monster fish keeper!
Just a word from the wise, telling people how many gallons isnt really helpful. Because if i told people i have 900gallon fish tank most people say a niger catfish could live for life in us. they get about 4 feet. But my tanks only 3ft wide.
Another thing to keep in mind with TSN is how easily they get spooked. Dimensions that may work for other 4' fish may not work with a TSN... there won't be enough braking room.
At your age, I say skip everything but the Oscar and buy him his own 75g.
I wounder what the poltical suitation would be if you did want to own one of those giant fish tanks such as right now I only have a 75 gallon tank and I'm not allowed to go buy any more tanks intill I move out which has bascily shut down any plans of mine of going for a 300 gallon tank. But as soon as I get my place I'm going to start building a 2000 gallon to 10,000 gallon fish room in my new house which I have picked out which will be a indoor green house pond with four to six foot tall viewing windows on the side looking into the basement and train room.
Maybe if it ok polticaly at your house you should see if you are allowed to up grade your existing tank to a 300 gallon and see how many resources it takes to buy and run it. But expect to at least need $1000 bucks to buy a 300 gallon fish tank system used though.
it will be a pond but i live in a tropical climate so it will probably be in my garage but how big of a tank would it take for just the rtc and the aro and i already have the oscar and the aro
