Really not happy....disaster struck

The "burning" effect or loss of scales could be do to alcohol but usually is a symptom of chlorine poisoning. Did you forget to treat the water during your major water changes?.................... I grabbed the wrong bottle of api one time and burnt out 5 carribe pirahna, the API bottles of tap water conditioner and water clear look exactly alike- another long shot is mercury poisoning thermostates use mecrury as the medium to gage temperature.

nah I did water changes on my 75 and 125 exactly the same and everything in the 125 is fine...and there are clown loaches in the 125 so if it was anything I did during the water change, they'd have been the first to go.

on friday I bought some feeder platys to put into the 55 and they're still alive and well so I think the 90% water change and carbon got rid of the issue but the amarillo were too far gone by then to be saved.

I am so sorry for your loss, your a Indy guy right? If someone (maybe Repair) comes up to the GCCA This weekend, or by the Classic, I can get you some Amarillo, not as a repacement, but you know...

I have my Geos, Gymnnos, etc, and one of my worst fears is the thought of a friend of my teenaged daughter dropping something any of my tanks....Someone would get very hurt, so I know the fear, if not the actuall result. Give me a yell if interested.

You're right orbit...that is truly awesome. Nuthman...I totally appreciate the offer but I don't know of anyone that would be making their way up there. Besides, gonna go ahead and raise up what I have now and get them distributed among the tanks I have now and go from there.
