$$$$$

the orange morphs are not so bad but the albinos and leucistic ones are several thousand dollars

Heres some more recent pics of mine. Sorry for the wait ive been busy shoveling snow lately plus ive been snowed in at my girl friends house.
You can get an idea of her size from the $20 thats how much shes grown since last spring when she was a little bit bigger then a quarter. Great turtle but she is starting to get a very nasty attitude. Be extremely careful if you decide to get one.

yeah you def dont want to be handling an adult of these guys (or even a juvenile for that matter) more than you absolutely have to, and yeah they get MUCH larger than 14in the State Zoo here has a huge pond right outside the entrance where they have picnic areas n stuff and have a big bridge going over it to the entrance of the zoo, and there is a handful of big snappers in there (i think they are wild ones that just live in that pond/small lake because they aren't in any kind of enclosure) but yeah so they are usually gathered around the bridge and those guys look HUGE even from 20ft above them, im sure their shells aren't any smaller than 20in, and more than likely are bigger than that!!! their tails alone are probably as long or longer than my forearm:WHOA:

those sound like ally snappers to me. too big to be a common if its tail is really as big as you say.

I have an injured common snapper as a wildlife patient right now. They're cute little buggers! I prefer the gators, but it's been fun watching him while he awaits his release date. Quite the growers compared to alligator snappers though. It's going to be fun kayaking him out to his release site this spring.
