What happened to me probably won't happen to you.

The short of it is, each leg of the stand is in a metal "cup". That is where the shims go. Well, the one corner leg wasn't completely in the cup so the stand was level without the tank on it. When the tank was on it and filled, it caused that leg to compress fully into the cup. Once that happened, the stand was no longer level. I swear I checked and re-checked the level of the tank the first week or so that it was running and it was level. After a while I noticed that the water level looked funny and saw what was happening.

I'm filling that one into my lessons learned category.

Ah... thanks. You did the right thing by draining that best and redoing that stand. I would lose sleep over that and would have done the same.

Believe me when I say that noone wanted to be around me for a few weeks. I was in quite a mood.

You sir have everything I could ever want.... A huge fish tank and a corvette

i like this tank and setup. i would change that one 90 degree angle u have on the over flow feed line though. just to reduce any thing that would cause restrictions. what size pump do u use to return the water. if my calc were correct thats a 5oo plus gallon tank. i like the room behind it. wish i did that.

only thing that seems hard to do is your overflows seem very small and must be hard to get a hand in. take some more detailed pics.

I don't think there's much I can do with the angle of the return line. The 90 elbow was used to make it work because I couldn't go with a straight hose line. I think the overflow drain and the entry port into the filter just ended up being in odd spots relative to each other. As far as the overflows being too small, I have no idea about that, they seem to be working properly to me. Tenecor included 2 Reeflo Snapper pumps with the package but they weren't getting the job done. I sold them and got a Reeflo Hammerhead. Turnover is much better now.
