That's gonna be Sweet! Can't wait to see it finished.

Put what ever you want it in. Your the person who has to look at and who is spending all the money on it. If you like oscars than put oscars in it! Maybe you can get a veil tailed oscar so it's not as typical. They are really pretty.

please get some better stock with such a nice tank, clown loaches sound good. how about some rays, some pbass, arowana, etc. dont let that tank go to waste

oscars are just way to common you can even get that at walmart or just about any fish store.. they're not the prettiest when reach adulthood.. they do have a great personality though like dogs but in the aquarium.. personally, i wouldn't pick that fish for that aquarium because the reasons above.. i would rather have a more exotic, bigger, and rarer carnivorous type fish in there... but that would just be me.. if you like oscar that much then hell yeah.. go get it.., its your aquarium...oscars are big enough to mix with other large fish like arowana and pbass anyway... good luck

Thanks for all the suggestions on stocking the tank. I really don't know what I will stock it with besides the fish that I already have. My goal is to not overstock the tank and to get fish that I will be albe to comfortable house for life, so no TSN, TSN Hybrid or RTC. I don't even think an Arowana is feasible as the tank is 3 ft wide and an Arowana can grow to 3-4 ft long. My other requirments are that the fish need to be easy to feed, meaning that I'm only going to get fish that will be able to take foods such as flake, pellet, freeze dried or frozen. If the fish requires an exotic diet beyond that, I'm not really interested. I'm also going to limit the max size of the fish that I get to 1.5-2 ft as I think that size will be a good size to house for life.

I may catch hell for this but damn the hatches!!!!!!

Let those who hate oscars for this tank shut the &^%& up!!!!!!!

I really believe you should stock this tank as you wish, after all, WHO'S TANK IS IT!!!

Really I am just thankful to be brought along on these tank builds. In the end of the day who is the one who will be sitting and looking at this tank. I for one would take advice but not follow it if it goes against what I want to do.

Go with what you want for stock so long as it is not an innappropriate pairing whatever you wish it to be is what it should be.

In the end, I plan on doing doing just that and stock the tank with what I want. I may get an Oscar or I may not. I'm not set on anything at this time. I may disappoint a bunch of the hard core fish keepers on here with what I stock the tank with but that's ok becasue I'm going to get stock that I know I will be able to take care of. I like hardy fish that don't die on me and are reasonably priced. I plan to have this tank for a long time. I probably will stock it with "common" fish for now but who know what the future holds, I may try to work up to the "exotics" in the years to come.

Great tank!I see nothing wrong with oscars,i actually love them and breed them.I highly disagree with "they get uglier as they get older".If your tank is proper the oscars will grow into beautiful adult fish.Good luck picking out your fish.
