I could give you the long story of how I got this fish but then I'd just get mad again. Just so you have an idea of what he's coming from, the guy was keeping it in a bowl and thought it was a goldfish...

Not a great pic but its all I have time for right this sec. At the very least you can see... NOT A GOLDFISH!

So I have dusted off an ancient 55gallon and set it up on some center blocks. Primed the cycle with Stability and some old filter media from a healthy tank. It's not laying on its side anymore so there's a good sign.

Its very small. Maybe 1.5 inches at the most. Can I feed him the same stuff I raise other babies on or does he need anything special?

This is the bad part about having limited high speed data, pictures load slowly. I'm assuming it's a koi though?
 
Well keep the water clean and the Oscar should be fine.
 
Oh good lord, what moron confuses an oscar with a goldfish? You practically have images of goldfish shoved into your face all your life. Also I don't see why not feed it what you feed the other babies. Maybe get some cichlids pellets and break them up for the little guy?

When tiny like that you can feed flakes or 1mm pellets. Best of luck to you and that cute little bestie. Just may be a wife for Lazarus.

Anything in there with it? Give it some hides at least. So it has somewhere to feel safe, and can come out when it wants to.

Like I said, I don't want to get mad again. Everything that guy did screamed "flaming moron" including how he approached me. I just want to focus on the fish.

Jexnell Jexnell this was dropped on me right before I had to start getting ready for work so the setup is a box of water and a filter. The room is dark right now. I will give it a hide when I get home in the morning. I had just enough time to see it get up amd move around alittle. Its super stressed and the water quality in that bowl was.... Wel it was a bowl.

The easiest, non evasive way it to tease them with food so they start swimming strait up and down.20171221_010617.jpg
Then start taking pics of thier "Area" till you get a usable one, use zoom in editing to really zoom in there.20171221_210714.jpg
In male's these holes are nearly the same size. This is female. The back hole being bigger than the front.
 
Ahh, if I'm doing it right then yours is a male correct?
