Already shows some signs of stunting, I would offer him some tiny mayfly larvae or live bloodworms

Previous owner said he gave it goldfish flakes the first day and it ate but didnt eat anything else for the next 4 days. Now I have it. He had not changed the water in the bowl. If he's been dumping food in a bowl for 5 days an no water changes its a pretty safe bet that. Its severely ammonia ppoisioned. Dunno that I can help this one... Will try some old goldfish tricks and see if it helps...

Night crawlers?

I still say try cut up night crawlers

Got it to take a few more blood worms before I left for work. Going to leave the oxygen diffuser running over night.

I still say try cut up night crawlers
Since I was able to get it to take the blood worms I'm going to keep it on that until it shows a little more strength. I'm putting out of my mind that its a sick oscar and going back to my basics and just treating a sick fish.

Ammonia damages gills and cells. They dont absorb and process oxygen like they are supposed to. Pin-hole oxygen diffuser hooked up to a medical oxygen tank diffuses pure oxygen thru the entire water colomn... Its like a fishy respirator - helps them breathe easier. Also gave him an injection of vitamins.

If he pulls thru, over the next few days I will expect to see it loose some color and develop black patches over alot of his body
