I think that we can ban spammers no matter where they post, though, because I was able to ban one that posted a spam thread in the "General Salt" forum even though I don't have full-on mod powers there.
I haven't noticed any spam threads or posts in my areas yet, though, so maybe they're just scared of those fishes.
True but sadly we also cannot spam ban other mods anywhere

Which is why members may see a SPAM thread still up but the member banned until the mod of that area has not got to deleting it yet. I guess this is an "edjumacational" thread for the public on how things work behind the scenes
