Recommend me a CA fish

Another vote for the lyonsi. Rapps has (or had a few weeks ago) nice grow outs.

You could get away with any of the three you were thinking of. Salvini are beautiful can hang with the best of them and usually don't get overly aggro but some can be very nasty. CA's are generally more agressive then SA's and there are some really nice looking Acaras that would be a nice addition to your tank and you could do more than one. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Yeah I'm noticing that CAs are more aggressive then the SAs...making things difficult! I understand that cichlids in general are aggressive fish but want to try to stick with those that are slightly/mildly aggressive as I want the most aggressive fish to be my GT.

I have a 75 and a couple of 55s on standby if needed if some fish don't work out in this 150g, but want to put together a nice CA/SA community that will have some nice colorful fish.

Also looking into the Acaras as I'm not familiar with them other then the Saums and Blue Acara.

Herichthys Carpintis Escondido

I'm pretty sure a Texas would beat the crap outta my Sevs, HRP and for sure the EBJDs...and most likely the GT.

I have some wimpy SAs remember.

Common but going to suggest Oscar since I have seen alot of tanks with GT, JD, and Oscars that do well together. Another plus is they're easy to find and with Oscar you have quite a few choices when come to color and patterns.

Well, trying to stay local here, so picking up the following this week...what do you all think? This will be my final stock list for the tank (well, add these three to the first post)

1 x Hypsophrys nicaraguensis
1 x Vieja regani
1 x Peacock Eel

All the fish are around the 2.5 - 3.0" mark and if all goes well the EBJD I'll be getting will be larger at 5-6" so he'll be the biggest kid in the tank. Like I said, I have backup tanks in case things don't go so great and I'm also a lurker on a local fish forum so can give away free fish if really need to move one fast. Hoping with all of them being juvies I don't see anything super aggressive.

Here's the final stock list for ease of reading:

1 x Male GT
1 x EBJD (will be getting soonish - He/She will probably end up in a 75G to itself)
3 x Severums
1 x HRP
1 x Hypsophrys nicaraguensis
1 x Vieja regani
1 x Peacock Eel

sound good :)

Yeah I want to try it in the big tank when he/she is twice the size of everything else, see how it works as they grow out. But this is also the reason why I haven't really stocked anything in my 75g besides a few rainbows. Also figure could house the Eel in the 75g as well if it doesn't work so well in the 150g (I don't see any reason why it wouldn't, just always nice to have a backup plan!)
