Get some of those little clip-on desk fans and aim them so that they blow across the top of the tank. Will lower temp a few degrees and not so quickly that the fish are shocked.
I just unplugged my heaters and did 2-3 water changes a week with lower temp water to keep the temps at a reasonable level.. Mine was at a constant 85-90 for a couple days until i started the frequent W/C's..
I have kept many types of ca/sa cichlid outside in kidy pools all summer long mostly fry but a few big fish as well. I have had water temps get in the low 90's with no deaths i would not worry. If u do want lower the temp do the wc or frozen 2 liter bottles in the tank will do the job.
Im in washinton and I too have been battling the heat wave, I found just by adding heavy curtains that allow little to no light will help keep my tank a few degrees cooler with the help of a box fan directed at my tank.
