Red Arowana Loses Its Color

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Someone told me that maybe the amonia in the water is too high that caused the fish to loses its color. I'm wondering if high amonia can do that.

yeah so endangered that its ok to have them outside of the u.s right? OP asked about his aro's color. other then that its none of our business where he's from if the fish is legal or not where he lives.

x2

High ammonia can make a fish completely white then translucent. i would do some heavy water changes. Can you give us some water parameters?

The arowana is in a community tank. A friend said that I have too many fish in there.

Nitrate is around 80 (now). A month ago it was about 160.
Hardness 150
PH 7.5

I have been changing the water pretty often. 1/5 of the tank per week to reduce nitrate.
