About a month ago I noticed that two of my mutt yellow labs have A redness right where the pectoral fin meets the body. It was very obvious on those two fish due to their color but inspected all of the other fish as well. Noticed my Bucco has similar discoloration. There also may be slight red discoloration inside the mouths and nostrils.
I ran a treatment of metroplex but has not alleviated the issue. All three fish are active eat well and I have been observing them for several weeks and the situation does not appear to be getting worse.
I will try to get a picture later tonight but I am concerned and may stop at store for additional medication on my way home. Any thoughts guys?
I change 75% water at least 1x per week often times 2x. Never see nitrates over 20ppm. Treat all new water with Prime. Temp is 82. 150 gallon tank. There is some normal cichlid aggression as far as chasing but nothing over the top. None of my fish have ragged fins or missing scales that would lead me to believe aggression is culprit. Reading online I saw that stale fish food can cause issues but I find this suspect. Feed NLS cichlid formula. I do buy the large tub and have had it for quite a while. I have two eheim classics and an FX6 for filtration. No salt in tank. There are roughly 25 fish in the tank. Haps, peacocks and a few mbuna.
would really like to get some input on this. Thanks in advance. Let me know if any additional info is needed for diagnosis.
