Wes at Rare fish had them in the smaller size. 5-7". Not sure if there are any left however they were Atabapo 1 and they were only $50. Each. He's on the vendor forum.

Is it safe to put them in a SA/CA community???
It depends on what you’re mixing them with. Do you have an idea of what other species and what the tank size will be?

Each pike has it's own personality. You can have one get along with everything, on the other hand you can have one that's a savage. If you have a pair of pikes and they become a bonded pair then good luck adding another pair or sometimes any other fish if the pikes were in the tank first. I had a bonded pair of strigatta pikes and an Atabapo 2 together in my 210 with my other fish and it worked because they all grew up together. So I tried my luck and added a pair of Zebrina pikes to the same tank, NOPE. That didn't work at all, I ended up removing my strigatta pikes and Atabapo pike within the hour cause I wasn't about to have them expensive Zebrina get injured or killed. It's just hit or miss with Pike's personalities. Now I have a lenticulata pike that's just a prick, I can't keep nothing with that one.
