Red belly pacu

A friend of mine runs the aquatic exhibit at the zoo, and has a 10,000 gal tank with a few pacu.
He gets requests from people weekly to tank pacu that have outgrown 500 gal tanks, and he cannot take them.
Unless you are prepared to eat the pacu somewhere down the road... well....

if you don't get attached to it, they are supposed to make good eating. For me this would be pretty hard to do if I thought it was a pet, but if you have in mind to eat it from the start, it probably won't hurt.

You could keep a pacu with them for sure, but keep in mind they get pretty big pretty quick. From my experience once they 12'' their growing slows down a little bit but not much. Add some floating plants to keep him from smashing into the glass, if you do decide to get one.
Yellow Belly Pacu is a great suggestion. I am waiting for Jeff to get more in, I want one!
