has anyone heard of white fertilized eggs? fertilized eggs should be orange/brown, but i have had 5 spawnings and all were white. well...... my last one actually hatched!!! the water is alittle hard (added softner), ph is 7, ammonia is good, nitrate is alittle high (lowering with chemicals). here are some pics

Hello i know the post might be old but i have the same thing going on. my eggs are white, but they are starting to move and grow tails it looks like. so i sucked them up when i seen the eggs and moved them to a 20g tank.

Can anyone tell me why they are white? and if they will survive? they seem to be moving . any red belly pro chime in and tell me whats up with white piranha eggs.

I will post more after the "bubble" or egg shell is gone. maybe then they change color?

I have raised many spawns........The white stuff is fungus....Sure they look white, but that does not mean they are not fertilized.......More water current over the eggs mass will greatly decrease the white fungus.........Also, let some of us know if the hatchlings of the wite eggs turn out "wierd.........."

ok so i took a video its hard to see the eggs are clear/white. i treated with polyguard. some people say its fungus will the polyguard work? i will post more . this is my real first attempt at breeding. i have a 250g planted tank. co2 ran out need to refill. if the polyguard kills them i will let ya know. also i used seachem stability to make sure water is good. im hatching bbs in two days to feed them. ive read that if you use a flash light to see if they need to be fed or not. i see no color? just clear/white eggs with tails and a lil bubble. please help if you can

so far so good. last night i didnt see much of a change. so i added a hude airstone. now i see like a million little eyes. when i have two airstones going and a filter the current is to much can that harm the fry? seems like it gets them to learn how to swim. i see a few i killled laying the air stone in there. my bad. if you want to see pics or a video of it just comment any help would be awesome.

Hey charlie11, I have a whole mess of convicts (a few hundred) and see that you're in allentown. I live in collegeville, I'll trade you a few convicts (as feeders or pets for your fish) for one or two of your fry, let me know!

i actually have two or three one inch that survived the spawn in the parents tank. did you want fry or baby reds ?i have 22 reds . and i think i have 4 that breed all the time . I'm still new to breeding successfully. but its a fun hobby if ya get it down right which i will get down one day.

pics of mom'ma tank i need to get all of the dead plants out. ive been having a huge nitrate problem due to dead plant matter. going to work on keeping my parent tank clean. should i move most of the substrate to one side and plant into the substrate with the t5's. im wondering if half is barebottom would it effect them making there nest.
