Red Devil and Convicts in Danger?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
^ Did you not finish reading the thread? I already took the tilapia back!!!! Maybe next time you should finish reading it.... And if things go bad, I have a seperate tank for the flowerhorn.!

Don't get too upset about what people are telling you. Based on your tank these comments are expected. A lot of times keeping fish is trial and error. You learn from your mistakes and hopefully don't do them again. Your stock could end up being the most peaceful tank of tough guys in town. But based on common knowledge and the experiences of others that seems highly unlikely. I do wish you the best. If you can pull your stock off and keep them together in a Larger tank, you will have a sweet set up. Good luck!

I have read the first page only...All those fish are showcase or breeder only tank setups...What I mean is, if you are only planning on keeping 75g tanks, seperate the species into their seperate tank and find breeding pairs for them.As for the Convicts, throw them in a 20g feeder breeder for your "yummy appetizers" in mind, aka "clean feeders.........."All those fish put together will need a 180 or larger in the long run....The Flowerhorn will run over the convicts.........The RD will either pair and breed with flowerhorn or Tilapia, or alll hell will break loose...........Then there is the 25% chance all will be peaceful in a 75g(highly not recommended)..........Like what I said at the start, seperate tanks for seperate species when it comes to cichlids, unless a large tank of over 6ft long or 125(180 better) is available..........

what size is the other tank?
I understand the desire to make it work and have cool fish in a community, it would be sweet to have those fish live together, the problem is, no matter what you think, there will be an issue. Im just saying you could avoid seeing a fish get really hurt or killed, or made to look stupid forever from injuries, or prevent it all in the first place.
Kind of like most people and medicine and health, instead of preventitive med and measures, they say f it and wait til theres a problem and then do something.
Sorry to rant I just think things for you and them would work out better if you moved a fish before it goes down, and this could work, them together, if you get a large 6 ft tank maybe...

tooo many aggressives in one tank is a scary mix :)

No it's fine, I understand what your saying, the tank in question is a 38, the fish is only 5" and he will be the only fish in the tank, so that will be alright for the time being... Thanks for the advice..
