Red devil and EBJD this is just a question.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah i highly doubt it will work, maybe if the ebjd is like 5in and the midas is 1.5in or something as midas grow way faster than ebjd and are a lot meaner, also you would have better luck with a midas than with a red devil. either way your ebjd definitely needs to be larger than 2in before you even attempt to add either of those kinds of fish, they are still extremely fragile at that size and can still die even without having any kind of stress from other fish

RDs and Midas are way too aggressive for ebjd. They need to be with peaceful tankmates or they will stress and die. Ebjd's are very weak and fragile fish, unlike the Rd or Normal JD.

In an 8ft tank with pleanty of hiding places the JD can fit into but not RD/Midas I would say you have a shot. Grow the EBJD to about 4" and then put in a 2" RD/Midas, throw in some dithers and it might work. Anything under 8ft might not be enough when both are full grown. You will have better luck if the tank is a smaller 6ft'er with a GT, A 4ft tank is out of the question.

Red devils and Midas cichlids are very aggressive. They also can be relentless when it comes to picking on a fish. The EBJD are just way to much $$$ to take the risk in that size tank.

Both of my EBJD's have there own tank. I would never risk my EBJDs. I was trying for a year to get EBJDs. I just picked up a female Jd 2" for my male EBJD 5". I'm hoping all will go well.
