How much are you guys feeding your devils?
I'm asking out of curiousity due to the fact that my 3 1/2 year old devil is still just 7" long (female). I was feeding her 2 twice a day up until here recently when she learned to "beg" for food by wagging around at the tank corners when she's hungry.
She'll keep doing this til I feed her about 4 times a day, I'm a lil worried about over feeding her.
Thanks for any input in advance!

ya thats about right. She may be naturally a smaller fish. Probably will top out at like 8.5". Just because a site says RD will grow to 12" that doesn't mean they will all literally grow that size. Females naturally never get 12" and just like people some are shorter then others.

wow stupid me I just realized you house the fish in a 37 gallon tank. Dude you have had the fish for that long and have been on this site for a while and you mean to tell me that you didn't know a RD should be in a MUCH bigger tank. Don't ask for help if your not gonna use it.

your Devils growth has been "stunt"! she's in a 37G along w/ other fishes!!!!!

look into getting a bigger tank or totally restocking your 37 w/ smaller fish.

Overfeeding+small tank=stunted Devil.

I don't quite get what exactly annoyed you in my post but ok. Other fish? 3 zebra danios and a tiny pleco aren't exactly a huge biomass increase.

I've been upgrading tanks as she grows, she was ain a 10gal by herself when she was about 2", the 20 long when she hit about 3.5", and now the 37 since for the past year now. I just recently started feeding her more.... since when is 2 times a day overfeeding?

I was under the assumption (based on several threads here) that bad water quality stunted growth and not tank size

I meant no disrespect in that last post.

no wonder, when is the next tank upgrade then?

I was going to wait til I saw some growth because the next will be the last tank for her seeing as she must be kept alone.
I've kept aggressive fish before but this one is by far the most murderous. The only thing that has made it was those danios that I bought as feeders b/c they were 99 cents a piece and she hasn't caught them.

Since it seems her growth has slowed down I'll probably house her in a 55 permanently, and start some CA/SA grow-outs in the 20 or 37gal.
