qick cure works as well as the temp up to 87 and salt. however i had best results with the quick cure as far as curing and it never came back. i hope your fish improves best of luck. ;)

It looks like the ich isn't too bad. It should be easy to clear up.

One piece of advice that I haven't noticed to have been offered yet, is to keep the lights off until it is cleared up.

I have had ich in my tanks several times in the past 25 years and I have used all of the above methods. The best treatment of ich that I have found to be is turning off the lights, raising the temp above 85 deg, and performing 2-3 50% water changes per week. It should clear up in about a week to 10 days, depending on how advanced it is. I have used meds and salt and find them unnecessary, effective, but unnecessary.

Why does everyone keep recommending temps lower than 87 degrees? It has to be a MINIMUM of 87F to kill ich. I would leave it at that for at least a week after it looks like it's cleared up.

as of right now...she's really weak. However, the ich is coming off slowly... there's alot of cotton like strands peeling off of her scale... i believe thats from the aquarium salt that i added. i transfer her to a smaller tank, while i overdose the other tank with the ich...revenge for those ich...3x the dosage.

What scientific proof do you have that requires minimum temperatures of 87 degrees to kill ich? I've cured it just fine with 85 degree water. :chillpill:
