Heres the latest update on my biggest RD type thingy....

This one look like it has more labiatus in it, because of the thicker lips, but it's still most likely a mix.

Hmmmm interested how all the doubters, from earlier, have been silenced as the true potential of this RED DEVIL comes to light;)
Why even post a comment like this? It only causes more arguments and comments that you don't want to see posted on your thread.. I think you have a very nice looking juvenile "Red Devil". That should truly be enough for you. As long as you are happy with the fish that's all that counts, be it Midevil, Red Devil..or whatever. Just as you are not going to be swayed by the comments of other members, other members most likely wont be swayed by yours. The coloration and form of the cichlid in question is quite nice in my opinion. Please take that as a genuine compliment. You have received some very credible advice from seasoned hobbyists, some with great backgrounds in cichlid nutrition, genetics, and collecting. The majority of these members have and are only trying to help you with understanding the species in question. The attached links in this thread are very informative and helpful. Judging by visual appearances in this species is difficult at best. Knowing the provenance is very important to determining what you really have. But like I said, you have a nice fish. I hope it grows big and healthy for you.

Exactly. They are nice looking juvies, enjoy them and quit worrying about their exact genetic make up.

Thanks guys... I wouldn't worry or get so upset if certain members aka fishman09 weren't so nasty!!

My point to this is I'm happy to call my fish a Red Devil Labiatus type (but unproven)... not a Midevil and I'm pleased some of you are warming to my fish more in the right kind of way. If I wasn't sure or unhappy about this speciman I wouldn't show it off in this way. I'm deeply proud of owning this guy!

fishman simply gave you a taste of your own medicine. It seems that no matter how many times the obvious has been pointed out to you in this discussion, you refuse to accept the obvious. Call your fish whatever you like, the reality is that without provenance back to the wild, or some DNA work to prove otherwise, the only responsible thing to do is consider your fish hybrids, and treat them as such if/when you ever decide to breed them.

It's a midevil. I have one as well and it's one of my favorite. Enjoy them. As for the thread it's not going many places from here.
