so does that make mine more of an rd because of its mouth???
Like I said, yours is a hybrid between the two, but from the pics, it looks like it does show more RD traits than Midas traits.

it really comes down to the fish its self ive seen Oscars meaner then jags and RD but ive also heard of them being big babies

Both of these fish are aggressive in a sense. The Jags are mostly territorial and will defend their area vigorously. Red Devils for the most part seem to tolerate far less tankmates. They can be highly aggressive. That's why a lot of people house them in solo tanks. But many people keep Red Devils with other cichlids as well. This is best accomplished in a very large aquarium. It will be hard for you to argue which is the most aggressive or mean. Individual fish can often times break the norm. For every keeper with a psycho RD or Jag, there's a keeper with a really laid back RD or Jag. But as mentioned before there are numerous threads about this topic and topics similar to this one. Jag vs RD, Trimac vs Umbee, Dovii vs .....Well, you get the picture. These types of threads don't usually have a kind welcoming on this forum, as some careless members will only attempt to keep aggressive cichlids just to see them kill other so-called mean cichlids in less than desirable conditions. But I would much rather answer these questions than to find another thread of some kid pitting a fight between an Umbee and a Trimac on youtube. I think that's the reason why members cringe when they read titles like this thread. Once you click on the thread you never know if you will see some insane fish fight in a 20gal tank or if you'll get a legitimate question. There's no prob with the curious questions. It's the pointless and cruel youtube fish fights that cross the line. Good luck with your RD. He looks very nice.

Hey bud whats up,I would say the RD is the more agressive of the two,of course it all depends on the fish, and keep him in the 75,plant the 55.

Between adults its more of a toss-up. RD are a little more anal about tankmates, but Jags are huge. From what i've seen Jags are pretty docile until they get big, while RDs are mean from 2''+

i have both fish in a 100 G grow out tank. their around 4'' , the Jag is really Aggressive it will constantly chase fish around the tank while the Devil/midas will just bite no flaring our anything. they got in to a semi fight yesterday but i broke it up because i hate seeing my fish with torn fins :P The Jag looks like it won because the Devil now runs from it :/ in my opinion the Devil is more Aggressive but the Jag will win a fight one on one . 18'' male Jag vs 14'' male devil ... the jag has size and a larger mouth . this video on youtube shows you what the fight would look light between a full grown Jag and a full grow midas even though the midas in this video was defending fry it still couldn't win :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4Oz9rVxgLw&feature=related . look at the bite marks on the poor fishes face :( this is animal cruelty but its answers your question
