red devil defend smaller areas,umbriferum are open water swimmers and probably wont be as defensive in a fish tank as red devils are,the other thing is although aggressive because of species fish have personality and some are nice and some are mean just like us humans.some of us are nice and some of us put fish in tanks to see who can hurt or kill themselves.
who cares who will win. just do the responsible thing for the fish in you/your friends care and seperate them. you chose to buy the fish, the fish did not ask to be bought by you so its your responsibility to give it a safe and suitable home.
letting it fight an umbee, one of the most powerful and aggressive cichlids, is just plain stupid.
