Red Devil?

Hey everyone,

My favorite LFS got cool little guy in a couple of weeks ago & had him listed as a Red Devil. He is young (only two inches) but he does look similar to a Red Devil or maybe a Midas. What is really throwing me off is his coloring. He is an odd pale yellow & black when his colors are out in full (like the last picture). After seeing him numerous times & realizing what a cool fish he is, I had to buy him.
Here's a couple of pictures I took today. Not the best of him but hopefully good enough to get an ID on him.
So does anyone know what he is..?

im no pro but maybe its not done fading yet or its some type of fh ?
 
other than the yellow color he looks exactly like the 3 Midas I picked up a couple weeks ago. where your has yellow mine is a silver color with the black. I'm hoping atleast one of them turns out red.
 
He just hasn't peeled yet. He'll become orange as he ages.
 
Cool, thanks for all the input. I didn't realize that they would change color like that. I will read some more about their "peeling". I'm new to Midas/RD so I have more to learn.. :)
 
i have one exactly the smae looking, was in the flowerhoern tank at 1". he looked odd so i bought him. he started off dark like a flowerhorn fry. but now at 3" he looks identical to yours. he fades more and more each day. cant wait to see him grown. ill get some pics also.
 
he is gorgeous baby rd..looks rd with the lips... but still could have midas cross...nice nice baby
