I going to be getting 1 maybe 2 red eye tree frogs within the next week. I need some help setting up the tank. here is the first problem i have. after reading some about them. they need hight more then with. Here is the tanks i have normal 10gal and 20/30gal(need to look at it again) long. Fist off what would be the best tank to use. I'm thinking the 30gal long would be best due to it's size. My next question is would it be better to turn it on it's side? If so how would i go about doing that. the top is a screen. or would it better to leave it down? my next problem/ question would be setting up a home made waterfall for it. I understand the basic's of making one but one part. what kind of motor do you use to move the water? a normal small power head or would a small underwater filter work for it? if i turn the tank on it's side how would the botto work with water? sorry i'm a bit new to out fiting tanks other than the basic's. Never did anything like moding the frame of a tank before. So turning the tank it's side will something new. please let me know what's the best route to use for it. also since i'm going to make it a live plant tank(first time) what kind of dirt/moss should i use? last question what would be the best light to use for the plants?

Screen tops no good for red-eyes,wont be able to maintain correct humidity.Id go for one of the larger exo-terras,and cover some of the vents.

how much bigger are we talking? 18x18x18? 24x18x18?
also what about if i just used my 30gal long tank. not on it's side. would that be tall enough?

You can buy pre made water falls for only $30 and some even come with a fogger to create extra humidity. And as stated above an exo terra or similar enclosure would be best. The bottom 6" is water tight and they even have water fall kits you can buy for there enclosure. www.exo-terra.com

after doing some research and the cost of a new tank. I've think to keep in my budget i need to turn my 30 upright. now i need some basic info how to cover the open side with glass/screen or something

What are the dim. of the 30 gal long? The need more height then length.
If you are going with a 30 gal I would only get 2 though. 3 would be pushing it. Make sure to get CB. 80% of WC die. Not worth it.

No certain lights are needed for the plants. Cocofiber works well for a substrate. Spag moss and leaf litter would help as well. Make sure the plants are fert and pest. free.
The need a water bowl of fresh water ( changed daily ) to soak in at night and they can have a screen lid as long as you spray them daily ( spraying daily very important).
Dont mean to sound rude here at all but did you do any reasearch on them at all or just start asking here?

Yeah do some research, get some books if you havent done so already. These are about the coolest frogs to keep in my opinion.
