The new Guy

Awesome addition. You're going to grow to love that fish.

Nice green terror!

so the green terror is awesome hes only about 3 1/2 inches so right now hes pretty nice and a little watchful of the red hooks. i think this really made the tank you guys!!!!! again thanks for giving the push we needed to add something to our tanks.

also what do you guys think about pool filter sand for your tank??? i have been reading up on it and it seems that a lot of people use it. however our LFS person said that the toy box sand will cause a lot of algae. is this true?? and if so does the same stand for pool filter sand? however i think we just might go with that black sand i forget the name. what do you think ??

nice red hooks!

just the pump for now;) no fish yet!

I've never seen any 12" (which I think is the size of a dinner plate) but I did have 1 that was 9" and 1 that was 8". They were that size when I got them, I ended up giving them back to the same shop I got them from, they were just too spastic and wild.
I don't even know the proper latin name for the 'real' Red Hooks. Most people (me previously) assume that Red Hooks are just the ones with the red hooks. But some of the common Silver Dollars have red hooks, too, so it gets confusing. I don't much care for them and just use them for clean-up duty.
ThatPetPlace says they get to 16" (http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod/213737/i/7/product.web), I'd have to see it to believe it though.

I go to that store, and they know what they are talking about. I'm not sure if they get 16'' in the home aquarium. I have seen RHs that big in public aquariums though.
