Red Light Cameras....who's got em in their town?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There are a couple here in tampa, I have been popped twice! One time I tried to argue with my boss saying how do they know its me if a few people drive that company vehicle, then he turned the page and sure enough another pic of me with a stupid look on my face as I went through the light.... The part that annoys me the most is I found out the county doesn't even get the money ,something like 90% of the ticket cost goes directly to the company that installed and maintains the cameras. That was a few years ago though so maybe it's changed

A lot of security companies will install the system for "free" then the government will "pay" for the system with the "earnings"... A lot of renewable energy companies (solar/wind) will do the same.

California Roll,I've never heard of that....Here we are allowed turn right on a red light if there are no signs posted that says that we can't...You guys get some pretty big fines compared to what we get here.

It is/was legal in California to "roll" thru a red-light, hence the name...

I know someone who was cheating and his wife saw the car photo with the girl on the side......BUSTED

:bs:

I don't think it was ever legal, just common.

We have them here in my town in Alabama the fine is only 10 bucks until after the third offense...also since I work as a fireman for my city I don't get tickets...:D

lol, true story dan. reason it even happened was he was arguing that he didn't get a ticket in her car so they asked to see the pics.it was actually in vancouver too.

i thought it was called the California roll because it's a fake stop but still considered a stop.......similar to how the California roll isn't real sushi in a ton of people's eyes but still considered a sushi

I just noticed on the return payment envelope that the payment goes to somewhere in Ohio......for a Philadelphia traffic violation.

I think some cameras are fake or not activated. I've made some close calls that I thought might get a ticket, but haven't had one yet...

I wonder if there's a delay so if you're under or at the light when it turns red it won't snap the pic??

There is a delay here for such situations...A number of seconds has to elapse after the light has turned red before you are in violation.
