Red Pacu tankmates

i never knew pacu's are this complicated.. i just bought them at my local pet store for 15pesos each. they were really small then.. wat if i get 100g for 2? so thats gonna be 2 100g's would that be ok?
 
You'll want at least 1000 gallons. And a glass tank won't work well. I've had them break glass. You'll want a very solid acrylic tank or a pond/pool for them.

Why dont u just get rid of the pacus and try something else...the pacu costs 15 pesos each the 100 gal. tanks cost 2500 each you do the math..why dont u try something that fits in your tank now and doesnt grow as fast, so that you'll have time to save up and prepare for their eventual out growth of your existing tank..ive seen pacus grow man my assistant has a red one and its like 18-20 inches around and that things only a year and a half old...this is just my opinion bro, just trying to help...:) :)

thanks for the tip pare. i didnt really know that pacu's can grow that big in the 1st place. hmm maybe i should save up ASAP then buy a 100gal. :)
 
im getting quite confused here.. so ur all saying that pacu's cannot live in an aquarium am i ryt? if so iv got a plan now :) and it would cost me cheaper :)
 
Bro, the point most of us are trying to make is that Pacus are NOT good aquarium fish for the average fishkeeper. They get huge, bust tanks, and eat like a professional football (american football) team. IF you only have a 50 gal tank there are a world of other fish you could consider. Try to return the pacus asap do some research and pick another fish. Just a bit from the peanut gallery.
 
about the eating part yea i know what u mean. they really eat like there's no 2mrw. i cant return these to the shop that i bought them.. ive got a solution. im planing to do a DIY fish swimming pool. maybe around 3 feet deep and around 1 and a half feet in length. would that do?
 
Just prito them babys and buy somethin else. don't make it too complicated. KISS "keep it simple sista".. :lol2:
