hmmm... my two cents is that there's not much diff between those and the green terrors you see in the stores... just IMO
I agree 100%.Selling them as Red Saums is just the same sales gimmick we have all seen before with people calling them Royal Saums for a few extra bucks. This subject has come up a couple of times before.Simply put, they are the same species. Some have better colours, some don't.As I explained in davidefc thread my guy went from white edging to bright red.As for Red Saum, locality difference maybe or F0 but still a Gold Saum none the less.Show me scientific evidence to prove me wrong.:)

I think he stated Rapp's only stated it was a rare color morph in the same genus and species.

Honestly - a few years back I would see a lot of "red saum" which were essentially just green terror/gold saum with a very nice deep coloring to their fin edging.

I haven't seen them as of late - but I don't exactly go from LFS to LFS these days staring at green terrors like I did 10 or 12 years ago.

I DO know that the two separate color morphs exist, whether that makes one worth more than the other is in the eyes of the buyer.

Very good and informative post, and from what i've read and talked through with Rapps. Red Saums are nothing more than gold saums with very intense orange trim. Marketing gimik indeed, but i'm more than willing to pay what he wants for a Sp. "Red Saum" If it is indeed the size that i bought from him. (Traded for more TGT's later on).
