if it's the same exact species, than yes it is a sales gimik.

Complelty different species, labed under

Sp. "Red Saum"

would be one thing, but don't make it something it isn't.

for instance a niceraguan dovii with a very pronounced Blue Sheen of the fin's being sold as "Sp. Blue Dovii".

This would and does confuse people terribley, as previously stated and shown.

just playing devil's advocate, but what about differentiating between a Red Oscar and Tiger Oscar? JD and EBJD? anything albino? they are sold under different names and priced differently based on color and patterns.

are those sales gimmicks?

that said; that is a nice Saum, but I don't see any difference between it and the gold saum I picked up at the lfs a couple months ago.

I don't think Jeff use's gimmicks, his fish sell. He's like the Noah of aquatic life. LOL Go buy

The fish you used for examples are different in appearance to each other.Your comparison is the same as the Gold Saum compared to the Silver Saum. These are not sales gimmicks. As for Gold compared to Red, you answered that question where I highlighted your response in red.

Thanks for reinforcing my point.

THERE IS A DIFFERENCE IN THE FINS , THE TRIM IS MORE OF A REDISH ORANGE THEN THE GOLD SAUM AND THE COLOR UNDER THE TRIM IS RED UNLIKE NORMAL GOLD SAUM

You mean like these normal Gold Saums that show more red (even in the body let alone the fins)than any of the claimed Red Saums I have seen to date and there are plenty more. Not trying to burst your bubble, i am just being realistic. These are not F/Hs that you can simply apply a new name too.As I said ,Show me scientific proof, even circumstantial evidence they are a different strain because no one has yet:)

hahahahah i agree with green terra. i have to admit. i've seen some amazing green terror males and some nott so amazing. from what i've seen, the good looking males with nice genetic traits get different names such as red saums and royal green terrors which makes sense if you really care about what fish you want. it's ok though, i got myself a rare electric green terror and a royal electric blue jack dempsey. hahaha.....
