Red Sea Blue Spotted Stingray

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was under the impression not many fish were being exported from that area of the world nowadays. I also think salt levels are higher for fish from the red sea. I could be wrong though.

Oh I get it LOL. Yea my Cal. Round begs for food and eats out of our hands, pretty cool. Zoodiver are they touchy when their first introduced into the home pond/aquarium or is that just how they are always?

I dont know about the fish export from there, so a person might be at the LFS mercy if they say it from the Red Sea. If its a true Taeniura Lymma or Trygone there is a difference in appearance according to online pictures that I look at. Are not some of the sailfin tangs from there or are they subbed for something out/

Seems to be for the first year or so, then they start to become less sensative.
Getting them eating and acclimated to captive life is the hard part.

Something to be concerned about for 250 dollars!

yeah true would be sad if it dies they get about 45cm don't they?
maybe find out tomorrow what they cost over here in wa if they are open or i find out monday but more interested in the not sure if it's a red sea 1 tho as i am more interested in the Blue spotted fantail ray 35cm max width hopefully thet still have them at http://www.oceanarium.com.au/Fish/stingray_photo_album.htm
is that the red sea 1 u ment or totally different 1?

ps will Blue spotted fantail ray go along with like clownfish, damsel, chromis?
or some snails or starfishes? or will the Blue spotted fantail ray eat them?
or what fish will go along with Blue spotted fantail rays?
unless they have also sharks in stock the clownfish ect will go in anohter tank before they arive
cause the shark will eat them ?even when still young?

from the pictures i have seen the red sea blue spotted ray has a different shaped disc coming to more of a point up from but they also say that could be a morph

so they could be the same just in a different pose on the photo?
this one only gets 45cm in width the same with the red sea 1?

what other fish do u keep with the rays u have or getting?

I dont think they have the same disc shape but i could be wrong. I dont have any fish with mine yet and dont know what I'm going to put in there seeing the water temp. will be in the 60s come winter here. A calico bass might be something to go in with them

If you're looking for a kuhlii, Blue Zoo has them in stock right now. They are considered to be hardier than the lymna and the disc is diamond shaped and they have fewer blue spots.
