Well I haven't been on the forums in a while, but I definitely remember this thread. Great job raising them. Did you keep the pair intact or break them up?

I ended up having to split the parents. It was getting nasty. The bp put some pretty bad bruises on the snook's mouth, and I thought she actually broke his jaw . Divided them for a few days, over which he wouldn't eat or anything. Finally when the bruising went away, he was good and ate like the pig he is. Put them back together....WWIII. She's in a friend's tank now.

As for all the compliments, thanks! I'm just trying to use this thread as a good timeline for them. So there will plenty more updates....:grinno:

Nah. Everything looks normal with the ones we have. But then again, I don't know what bp fry look like, so I really don't know what I would have been looking for. Closest we came to what I would "think" they'd have looked like were crooked back babies, and they just couldn't function. Not surprisingly, that's where we lost quite a few.

I tried google to get BP fry pics but didnt come up with any good ones. the body shape is similar, but the color isnt there yet. usually grey with some darker vertical barring

They're starting to get taller. Growth seems to have moved in that direction, as they're not much larger than 3". A couple might be 3.5". The one that had red showing on the gill plate has gotten a little more, but really not much. The darker, barred one, has gotten darker for sure, but that's about it. I was planning on getting some new pics in the next couple days, so I'll try to get some up soon.
