red tail cat fish what do you think?

from the pics it seems that he has gill curl

you can see it in this one also. the part where the gill is, right above it it should be black like the top on 'em.

i take back what i said. he might be young enough to outgrow it IF he gets a **** load of TLC.

the redtail in the pic looks like its been starved - look how hollow the belly is. and the head is way too big for the body - a sign of malnurishment as it grows...

I've seen redtail gill curl from both stress and water chemistry issues.
Some come back, and some that keep it as full adults.

The gill curl isn't an issue for this little guy... getting him fattened up would be.

Nice to see the OP knows his limits on owning such a fish though There are very few people whom can house such a beast and even fewer that are willing to make the sacrafice of time/money to actually get it done

they get around 38" min eat loads grows fast and its girl has girl curl ,water changes wil sort it out mate GLwith him

what a poor RTC,I beat ya that some stupid kid that is 5or6 owns it in his tiny goldfish tank!!!!
when I see some fish that grows big in that tiny tanks I just need to help the fish,I have give like 8 fish's that I have bought on Ebay from people that had them in small fish tanks to my trusted local fish shop.
and yes this RTV has a bad Girl Curl,it would be great if some could pick up that little guy.
