RED TAIL CATFISH QUESTION

about to weeks ago i purchased a rtc and this fish is driving me insane. all he does is hide behind the filter. ive only seen him eat twice and he absolutely devours food. hes not afraid of me at all. idk if he comes out at night time like most cat fish or if this is unusual behavior.

what do you guys think???????

not one bit. i know they get huge thats about it. im an experienced fish keeper. this will be my third tank. but i didnt really think. i bought on impulse because the guy i bought it from had to get rid of it because he had a dovi in the tank that was about to kill it.

hes in a 55 by himself and in about 2 weeks hes going to a pond that im currently building

I just bought 3 of them yesterday, along with a 6in TSN they ate right when I let them out of the bag, it won't be very long till they get big. Try to add another hiding place to see if he switches.

i have he just likes that spot for some reason. hes not gonna have many places to hide in the pond though

Give the cat time, he will come out and play when he's ready. As long as he is eating, I wouldn't worry to much.

2 things catfish are good at ... eating and hiding thats just what they do, when he gets bigger he will show himself a bit more . good luck with him or her
