red tail cudas

Hey just got 2 red tail barracudas. Just had a question on the species cuz mine has yellow on the tail and not red so was just wondering if this was the same thing or wat. It has a black spot near the tail but not behind the gills like ive seen before.

i think the yellow and red tail ones are differnt. not positive though

Sounds like you have Acestrorhynchus falcirostris rather than Acestrorhynchus falcatus.

yellow tails are much more aggresive than the red tails

yea mine hit feeders as soon as i put them in the tank lol.

IME they grow very slowly. Is there anything i can do to get them to grow more quickly like blackwater extract?

I doubt the extract will help growth but wouldn't hurt if you can maintain consistency. Good nutrition will so vary the diet a bit, gut loaded live crickets are usually happily taken. They get a bit bigger than the falcatus, around 16"
