Red Tail vs. Yellow Tail Barracuda?

i'd say go with the reds because there smaller but you could get away with either one i've heard yellows can get to 18'' but have never seen one that big
Mabye both species ? they should work together i'd say that only the smaller striped species would be a no go but it depends on tankmates and there size i suppose

ok well i think i will go with the red tail. as you said they are smaller, look a little better, and can be slightly more aggresive... thnx everyone
I've kept both,..the redtail shown more aggression and hit feeders hard,..he
was alot of fun to watch,..bigger he got the easier it was to see his teeth,..
my yellow tail would spend alot of time in the floating plants, but ones different
from the next i suppose, just speaking from my experience. Have also kept Hujeta
cudas and would again,..they coil up in an s pattern and launch at prey, alot of
fun to watch too.

Red Tails are much more Aggressive, I was about to get a RT but then when my LFS worker was putting it in the bag he dropped it.... So I settled for a Yellow Tail and it got owned by my Hujeta.
im trying to decide on a red tail/ yellow tail barracuda or a Pickerel ive always wanted a cuda and never seen or heard of the Pickerel till recent. They or it is goiing to start off in a 40 breeder. What breed is easier to keep alive as far as them not harming themselves? Do Cuda's get along with tank mates more than Pickerel? Thanks.
