as far as the green face thing, which i missed earlier, my female has a green face. It's not that unusual. I can post some pics if you want, just didn't want to resize them at the second
sometimes males when showing there stripes they protrude up into the dorsal fin giving it a female look. but yours vertical bars are not prominant at all but has the black dorsal fin. that is a female. i have 4 festae and my female looked like a male before. i would say yours is 99 percent female. put her in with a aggro jag or something and i bet her colors show up in a hurry.
When I bought it, it had no traces of black in its dorsal fin at all, ergo I assumed it was male as they usually show their colors by 4-5" right? Anyways, here are the vent shots. Now it gots me thinking again. Females are supposed to lay eggs with or without a male present right? How come mine has never done so?
I'll try to get better shots right now, hold on, lol, without the net. Pics are a little blury.
Here's a better shot. From the side in the water, it comes out like a V. If I would have zoomed in, you would see the vent coming to a point. I'll take a closer shot tomorrow if peeps still can't decide, lol.
