However.. could the female be barren??? i dunno if this can happen to fish.. but.. maybe?

hm, look at that. i guess i just wasn't paying very close attention and i even watched that thread religiously to see how she was doing.

Yeah she looked awful with that sad green face.

Maybe something is stressing Fish on Fire's Festae to make her green.

Now you have. :)

are you gonna post pics of a female with a green face? the pics of the fish you posted arent the slightest bit green in the face. Are those the right pics?

to prove your point though, heres 2 that do have green in the face.

1st one belongs to someone on here I believe and the 2nd is a photo from Rapps.

:screwy:

She did have a green face. My crappy camera flash washed washed out the color and made her look weird.

The first picture you posted is a male but the second is def female with a green face.

And thanks for helping me prove my point. :)

my bad.

From the vent shots it's definitely a girl. I've only had one female cichlid lay eggs without a male present. I've had 4-5 that I've had as the only fish of their species, then shipped off to be bred and they laid eggs within a month.

Aight man, thanks for clearing it up for me. I kind of want to start over now with the festae, as the other "male" I have is starting to show the same colors, etc.
