Red Texas project

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a similar project going right now too but have more of an emphasis on short bodied red texas faders as the finished product.
You have a male and female to kill any question about that. Search my started threads, I have a pair alot like yours. Not much help posted on it but you can check my project.
Interested in trading fry when you get some?

Whats up, yea, you have a nice pair there. I'm open to trading fry. I'm not too big on SB RTs but i'll let you know if i ever get any. My goal is to get a RT that looks just like a regular wild escondido/Texas, but only RED. Where are you from?

Nah, Im too short on room for a Texas project. I just took them because Johnny wanted an air pump for them. I had some extra pumps so what the hell, why not. But I dont really want this guy, wish he was a she though.

Also that Escondido looks freakin amazing dude.

Sent you a pm. I think you are starting with a good pair. Ive got a couple other parrot type fish I will be using as well.

No eggs yet, just and update on how they are doing. Enjoy!

It seemed like it took our texas and BP only minutes to bond and spawn. She should be a good mother ours was I was our first spawns down fall. Thought she was eating them but she was hiding them under a rock and I moved her. You will know when they are close to spawning the front half of his body will turn black.

ok i all for starting new breeds of cichlids being that cross breeding is how most different types of fish are made . i have done it myself with convicts and firemouths but why do you want to breed texas and blood parrots?

When you cross Texas and blood parrot or any other red/red orange cichlid such as red devil or mamon flowerhorn, you get what is called a red texas/RT. They are a nice looking fish if you can breed them right, IMO. I think it comes down to personal preference though.
