$20 FOR A THAI SILK??? Are you kidding me, not like mine with Kok and all.. No way.. your dreaming. Regular Thai silk at 6 inches is $75 let alone speciman with Kok like mine. Try again... go to aquabid and you will realize your prices are way off.. not for the SRT of course, but for Thai Silk AAA speciman.

If you are going to buy top of the line specimens like the ones you showed then def. SRT

Yeah a generic low grade thai silk.. You know they all have the same genetics right? This one cost me $18.

No thai silk is worth more than $20 imo. If you paid more, I don't care.

They dont all have the same genetics. And most offspring dont have the genetics to become stunners. You would'nt pay $200+ for a SRT fry because you have no idea of the potential. TS you can judge a little easier when they are young. IMO, High grade TS at 4-5 no less than $100. People get too hung up on labels, Its all about quality.

Definately do not all have the same genetics! Yours look nice for what you paid for it, but will it really develop superb color and Kok. Only if you know the parents. Time will tell. Mine had that color and Kok and 4 inches. That distinguishes between over the counter generic meds and name brand ;)

Good luck with yours Camp!

It already had good color and a proportionate KOK for a 3" fish. Julie sent it to me as random fry. You can get them from her @ her website flowerhornsfrombeyond.com anytime for $20. It was 1 of 2 that I raised and yes the other one was just as nice. I sold 1 at 3" to a friend and I lost the ones in the pictures @ 4" because it had parasites that I could not get rid of. Seeing as how the thai silk / titanium has only come out in the last 2 years and not a single person on this site could tell me what the parents are I'm going to tell you that yes the fish all do have the same genetics. At most I'd say your fish is within 2 generations of mine. I'd bet that they are from the same parents and breeder.

I like the color and shape of the thai silks but since it's a new strain they're just not that hardy. The blue is cool but it's not original if you've seen one you've seen them all IMO. They're hardiness is the main reason they're not worth more than $20 to me.
